Bathroom Trends for 2025
As time moves on, so does our perceptions and needs. This in turn informs how we live our lives, including how we style the spaces around us. 2025 is no different, with new styles emerging that reflect the current mood of the times and what we want our environment to do for us.
Moving away from keeping up with the latest fashion, many people are turning towards interior designs that speak to them on a personal and emotional level. Focusing on a sense of homeliness, interior design in 2025 is going to be all about creating a space that means something to you, combining modern style with practicality, comfort and achievable upgrades.
A Prevailing Design Trend for 2025
With a greater focus being placed on comfort over aesthetics, the Retrofit design style will be commonplace in 2025. This style puts homeliness at the forefront of interior design, featuring choices that are meaningful to the user, items that promote happiness and joyful uses of colour.
Homeliness is not just about a welcoming design. A sense of homeliness can come from a personal space with items or styles that provoke nostalgia and meaningful memories. This creates a cheerful modern-vintage mix where contemporary styles and décor are combined with older themes that are more nostalgic and playful. The great thing about this mix of styles is that it creates a ‘work in progress’ feel, relieving the pressure for a home’s interior to look immaculate and trendy at all times and gives a relaxed environment that plays wonderfully into the sense of comfort that is longed for in the home.
This idea of meaningful choices extends into the use of colour too. Becoming more personal and diverse, the use of colour is more focused on the feeling it gives a space rather than how it looks aesthetically.
Playfulness of Design
Getting playful with a design is a great way to make your space personal and welcoming. Bold patterns, floral design, colourful stripes and contrasting tones make for a friendly space full of character. Making colours and patterns that you love the central feature of the room also brings a constant sense of joy into the space and displays your individuality. In the bathroom, this could mean bold wallpapers with a beautiful motif, or floor tiles with a striking pattern. The great thing about bold design is that it remains fresh. While certain more neutral colours may come in and out of fashion, bold design remains timeless, keeping your home looking modern for years to come. |
Simple Décor Upgrades
With multi-household homes and cross-generational occupants becoming more and more the norm, interior design is also beginning to take a more ‘do-it-yourself’ approach. With this comes a want for simple improvements that can be made to a space through its décor. This creates a more relaxed stance on both the design process itself and the expectations of the outcome. One thing that is prominent in this approach is simple finishing touches that provide practicality and functionality without needing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to obtain. In the bathroom, simply upgrading things like your brassware or your accessories is a great way to elevate the space without excessive time and effort. With a selection of colours available across all bathroom accessories, this is also a great opportunity to get creative and bring personalisation and character into the space. |
